We’re adding some new horizons to our field of study.
The study of environment and climate science goes hand-to-hand.
The changing chemistry and physics of our climate has made us to study the change in our climatic patterns and its implications on the livelihood of the planet.
Over the course of time, change in climatic patterns and variations in the working of the weather has drastically changed the way we live.
We have seen 7 cycles of changing climate in last 6,50,000 years, but this time it’s totally anthropogenic.
Studying how our environment works and how it is changing will give us upper hand to solve this most crucial problem of the human history.
Ever since the industrial revolution began, the energy demand has increased day by day and after globalization, energy has become the key to economic prosperity.
Our fundamental source of energy is electricity and we’re constantly in search of energy resources which can keep our turbines rotating.
Our current processes of meeting our energy demands are highly dominated by cheap but dirty energy producing fossil fuels.
Today 82% of our total energy demand is satisfied by fossil fuels i.e. coal, crude oil (gasoline, diesel, kerosene etc.) and natural & petroleum gases.

But unfortunately these sources on which our economies have been thriving and our modern lifestyle is dependent, pollutes the environment badly.
And today it is not limited to polluting the environment only, but it is also changing the global atmospheric chemistry and physics.
Today the question with our energy producing habit is sustainability and reliability as a potential energy producers for our energy demands.
The energy demands are going to rise and that is inevitable.
The need of finding alternatives which are sustainable and economic too is vital.
Innovation led approach to meet our energy demands is necessary.
The recent advancements of solar and wind energy is proving catalytic. We need to evolve our business models and lifestyles that lowers the impacts on the globe to support the exponentially rising population.
With the advancement of big data analysis, machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) we will have better insights and better analytical tools will help us to manage our resources better and will give us most out of it.
Empowering inclusive development is needed to solve the problem of climate change, where no one is left behind.
Technological advancements like Blockchain will give financial access to all, regardless to where they live, putting everyone on the same page so that everyone have equal opportunities to prosper their lives.
The solution not only lies in changing our energy policies and changing the way our economies thrives, it is about collective change of perception and behaviour towards our nature and the planet.
Shifting towards a society which is not consumption based, but which is established on the believe of integrating social, environmental and economic sustainability.
Let’s not take climate change and other global issues as a problem with complexities, let’s take it as a greatest chance we have ever got to make the world a better place to live.
We need a transition of believes that rather than controlling the nature we should live in harmony with it.
And that sounds homecoming !
